Q&A

We suppose you’ll be wanting some information.

You’re engaged?!

Evidently! We thought we’d told everyone. Oops. Want the back story? Check out our metaproposal!

What took you so long?

Good things come to those who wait! Better late than never! Oh… maybe you are referring to this invitation? 😉 We are sorry not to have let you know sooner; things have been busy, to put it mildly. We hope you are still free to join us!

Is this your actual wedding? When’s the real ceremony?

We are having a series of events to celebrate our wedding, including two ceremonies on the weekend of June 3-5: a smaller one on Saturday and a larger one on Sunday for our broader community. (We expect more robots on Sunday.)

A glutton for context? Here‘s more about what we’re thinking. (Don‘t say we didn‘t warn you.)

What should I wear?

We‘ll be enforcing a strict policy of wear whatever you like within reason. We are also inviting thematically appropriate attire. (Think robot parade.) For those needing more labels, assume creative/festive attire. For those needing more information, see here.

Can I bring my kids/partner?

All events will be appropriate and friendly to kids of all ages (including your inner child!). Feel free to entice them along with phrases like “robot parade”. We will welcome characters of all kinds! (Partners are welcome too, of course!)

I want to come and I can't make it!

We want you to come too! (We know, we should have asked earlier. See above.)

We know it may be difficult for those of you not based in the Bay Area or whose lives are planned out a little further than ours tend to be—but we wanted to ask just in case. But we will be happy to celebrate with you whenever we next see you.

Speaking of which: we are planning satellite events in other locales over the next year (e.g. Paris, East Coast, Southern California and New Zealand). Stay tuned! (Ed.: We haven’t gotten to all of these yet, but we reserve the right to keep celebrating over the next N years.)

What if I have more questions?

, but… ask us, ask us, ask us!
