Q&A

We suppose you’ll be wanting some information.

You’re married?!

Indeed! We had a weekend-long celebration deep in the redwoods of Northern California in June. So this is our official half-year anniversary, halfway around the world from the original date.

For more of our back story, you might check out how this saga began with our metaproposal. (Warning: contains nerdy puzzles, flagrant wordplay and an elaborately staged engagement.)

You’re still celebrating?

Yup! We are grateful for many people around the world—friends, family and colleagues who have played a role, whether directly or indirectly, in shaping our lives. In fact, our wedding weekend was just the beginning of a series of events to celebrate with these many communities. We are thrilled to bring our global wedding tour to the Southern Hemisphere and delighted to have the chance to meet some of you for the first time and see others again!

What should I wear?

We’ll be enforcing a strict policy of wear whatever you like within reason. For those needing clearer labels, assume festive/party attire. We‘ll be outdoors in the Hay Family garden, so we‘re hoping the weather will cooperate!

What should I bring?

Yourself! And no need for gifts; your presence is present enough!

If you’d like, you might consider whether you have any advice, stories or anything else (however serious or silly) to share with us as we embark on the adventure of marriage. Perhaps a poem, a saying, a song? We’d love to draw from your collective wisdom!

Totally optional, for fellow food-lovers: if you have a favorite food you’d like to share, feel free to bring something along for the table.

In short: bring yourself, and only if you really want to, feel free to bring us food for thought OR food for eating. 🙂

What if I have more questions?

, but… ask us, ask us, ask us!
